Brussels, 17-18 April 2007 Conference ''Perspectives for FOOD 2030''
On 17-18 April 2007 the Directorate-General for Research of the European Commission organises a major Conference on the future research and competitiveness aspects of the European food industry, in Brussels (Charlemagne building), Belgium.
What will the consumer want on his plate? How will the supermarket of the future look? Which technologies will emerge? These important questions will be addressed during the Conference which aims at debating policy and industry development and anticipating research needs.
The Conference will be divided into four main sessions: - Trends and Outlook in World Economics, Culture and Food - Drivers of Food demand and of the Market Today and Tomorrow - New Technologies for Food Production - Future Perceptions of Food. Commissioner Potocnik for Science and Research and Commissioner Fischer-Boel for Agriculture and Rural Development will participate in the debate.
The conference will bring together major European and worldwide actors from the fields of food technology, retail, consumer science/behaviour, economy, etc. to gather visions of the future.
Participation Due to the limited capacity of the meeting room and in order to ensure a good representation of the various stakeholders, you are invited to express your interest in attending the Conference.
