The TRUEFOOD Project Coordinator and Project Partners welcome you to this website!

TRUEFOOD – Traditional United Europe Food (Contract number: FOOD -CT-2006-016264) – is an Integrated Project (IP) financed by the European Commission under the 6th Framework Programme for RTD. The project started 1 May 2006 and will last 4 years. The overall aim of TRUEFOOD is to introduce suitable innovations into traditional food industry to maintain and increase the competitiveness of the industry in an increasingly global European market place. This will be achieved through close integration of R&D activities, demonstration, and training and dissemination activities.

The project is coordinated by the European Economic Interest Group SPES GEIE comprising 11 European Food and Drink Federations. The project partners are “centres of excellence” in food related R&D, with strong experience in the European traditional food sector.

TRUEFOOD represents a unique and pioneering initiative because it directly involves the SMEs which are a large part of the European food industry, but normally do not have such direct access to the benefits of high quality R&D.
